I replaced the stamped dear head birch stocks (which I still have) with some new Walnut checkered stocks I got off of ebay! Now it looks like a 336sc (sporting carbine). By my research it was made in 1973 based on the serial number. There is still plenty of rifling left so it hasn't been used that much. It comes with a Japanese made scope that is Glenfield branded and is very clear. The Glenfield line was intended to be resold at a profit by mass merchandisers - thus the less expensive wood. For the 30A itself, it was the model following the Glenfield 30 - the difference being a full length magazine tube for the 30A. Over a quarter million of this model were made.
