That'll set things as if you hadn't ascended before, allowing you to get achievements you'd normally only be able to get on your first run. Then when you ascend again your progress from before will be restored. One half for cookie clicker, and other for the rest of your tabs. That way you can still click golden cookies. I only idle when I sleep with golden switch on. In 3 hours of actively playing the game today (since I woke up) i made 3x more cookies than I did idling for 10 hours while I was sleeping.
