Lineman’s Rodeo. By Russ Butow. The Lineman’s Rodeo was held Saturday, May 17 at the Truesdale Training Center. A total of 18 journeyman teams and 28 apprentice teams competed. They represented a number of cities and utilities, including the Department of Water & Power, Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, and Arizona APS. July 18, 19, 20, 2024Nolte Island in Seguin, Texas. The Texas Linemans Rodeo Association, Inc. (TLRA) is a non-profit organization created to offer lineworkers in the great State of Texas a way to showcase their pride in the profession of high voltage linework. For more information, click here.Starting in 1986 and for the next 5 years the rodeo was held at the Sub One Training Grounds of KCPL. During this period in the Rodeo’s history a number of changes occurred. The most notable one was the overall size and scope of the rodeo grew from the initial 36 competitors the first year to 235 competitors at the 7th annual rodeo.
